Alas, it ends! Rae's quick opinion
The Harry Potter 5 movie was really good in my opinion, I really enjoyed myself.
But let us turn now to the LAST BOOK OMFG.
spoiler warning!
I really loved this book, I could not put it down! Whenever I was at work "I wanna go home and read Harry Potter!!! Arrgh!" Unfortunately I had not much time on the w/e due to my mother hogging it! And I went and saw the movie on Sunday.
The plot, the suspense, the action! JKR really has a gift of writing this genre.
I also was soooo happy to hear that Slytherin wasn't ignorantly made 2-D as was in the first book way back when. Although, I was one of the few people who were all like SNAPE IS BAD and I surprised myself by being happy to be proven wrong. And even though Draco wasn't in it very much (at least he played a large role in book 6) of what there was of him made me squee because he seemed so innocent... Dumbledore had faith in his soul... Harry saved his life - twice! The bit where Harry nicked his wand, though, seemed a little elusive to me. Did Draco no try to struggle, at all?!
Going to what I really disliked about the book, was the bit at the back that was called Nineteen Years Later I mean, WTF? It read like a bad fanfiction I would scorn on FF.net! The only good thing about it was he gave one of his dumb brats Severus as their middle name and that Draco was in it and civil and that Harry didn't say anything bad about Slytherin.
Ok but apart from that dumb bit which I think she shouldn't have published, nor written at all, the book was great! And what great fodder for the imagination of slashers! ok, so Snape's dead but I never slash him anyway. But plenty for Harry/Draco! Sigh, I wonder what ever happened to Draco's wand? Will Harry ever give it back? Would Draco ask for it? The passing back of Draco's awsome wand that totally saved the day, THAT'S the extra scene JKR should've written, fucking!
And what about Dumbledore and Grindelwald?! They had two months of some heated, fantastic relationship in which they lazed around naked in bed all day brainstorming about the Deathly Hallows~! ok, that's a bit much, even for me, but an interesting plot bunny none-the-less.
Ginny pissed me off, she should have died instead of Remus and Tonks!
Hagrid didn't die, like everyone thought he would, and it's awsome Grawp had a cameo here and there.
Go Neville! You kick arse! And wow, Dean, Seamus and a bunch of Hufflepuffs were in it.
Ron and Hermione's kiss was amusing, but anti-climatic, or maybe just exhausting.
ok, that's... about all I have to say. Except I love dragons, and I really felt sorry for the one in Gringotts.
